The temple stands on the southern bank of Sibsagar tank on the easternmost corner. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, this temple consists of garbhagriha,antarala and mandapa. The plan of the garbhagriha is octagonal and covered by a domical sikhara with honey- comb designs and clustered by eight angasikharas. The do-chala¬ roof mandapa is typically resembled with Assamese chala hut. The temple was built by queen Ambika Devi, one of the queens of king Siba Singha (CE 1714-44).
